The electronic equivalent of a Swiss army knife, the GPX TVWB534SP portable TV, latern, and radio packs as many goodies as it can into its stylish, durable housing. This device centers around a 5" TV, with vertical hold, contrast, and brightness controls.
The unit also comes with an AM/FM radio, an instant weather band receiver that picks up weather alerts and storm warnings, a flashlight and a lantern. It also has a thermometer that keeps you informed of the outdoor temperature.
And is if that's not enough, it even includes an emergency siren and a compass--a couple of handy items should you get lost in the mountains or the countryside. Users can remove the flashlight from the plastic housing, which makes the light source far more portable. The housing charges the flashlight independently, though the light does require two rechargeable ni-cad batteries (not included). As a lantern, the unit offers a two-way adjustable fluorescent beam that's ideal for reading, eating, or as a general background light.
The GPX Sport is an all-in-one emergency tool for home power failures and/or natural disasters. Users have the choice of plugging the TVWB534SP into an AC wall outlet or a DC cigarette lighter adapter, or they can add nine C-size batteries for portable use. Adding to the unit's convenience is a molded carrying handle and an adjustable/removable shoulder strap for longer totes.
The device also includes an audio/video input (for plugging in, say, a portable DVD player), an external antenna jack, and a stereo headphone input.
